Too many horseback riders hang up their boots once the snow flies, resigned to hibernating until spring. The major German counter-offensive in the Ardennes became known as the “Battle of the Bulge” a phrase coined by the American press who described it in terms the way the Allied front bulged inward on wartime news maps. Instagram Marketing Key Points: EMV (Earned Media Value) isn’t the right metric for measuring brand awareness. Interestingly enough, even Kentucky Derby winners aren’t safe from slaughter With the 2002 slaying of 1986 Kentucky Derby winner Ferdinand at a Japanese slaughterhouse, the horse racing industry has proven time and time again it does not even value it’s most prize assets. These paintings have given countless generations a glimpse into life for the Native peoples in the US in those days. Other types of cross country sports include Cross Country Jumping, a jumping course that contains logs and natural obstacles, and also Endurance riding. Endurance riding is a type of competition usually of 50 to 100 miles or more, over mountainous or other natural terrain, with scheduled stops to take the horse’s vital signs, check soundness, and verify that the horse is fit to continue. The first horse to finish and be confirmed by the veterinarian as fit to continue is the winner. Additional awards are usually given to the best-conditioned horses who finish in the top 10. In the other state the Lipizzaner stud farm is often high for the team, but also to improve the breeds of horses used in agriculture. The Lipizzan is more rustic, suitable for the terrain, the small mountain. It is durable, easy to feed and, also, of great kindness. And now I saw on the news that the virus has been found in several of the countries we were to visit – Estonia, Denmark, etc. Which means that 4,000 people all taking a shore excursion may be exposed and then get back on board. Where I am. Great information! Ebay is a great tool to find well-made, name brand, used saddles for sale at very discounted prices. I would recommend a name-brand, well-made, used saddle over a brand new, cheaply made, non-brand name saddle any day of the week! Synthetic saddles are a great, cheaper alternative to all leather saddles, and are also great for those who aren’t able to lift a standard, leather saddle onto a horse’s back. A typical leather saddle can weigh up to 45-50 lbs. whereas a synthetic can be less than half that weight. Overall, a saddle is an investment, a tool that will help you ride your horse and you should spend the most money that your budget will allow. This piece of equipment needs to fit your horse properly, otherwise it can cause severe damage to your horse’s back overtime, and it also needs to be comfortable for you as a rider. That’s why a saddle can be a costly investment, almost as important as choosing the right horse.
A rare breed, hailing from the Marwar region of India, these horses are most well known for their inward-turning ear tips. The Marwari comes in all equine colors, and are primarily used for show, horse safaris, ceremonial and religious purposes, and dressage. They are often crossed with the Thoroughbred to produce a larger horse with more versatility. The exportation of the breed was banned for decades, until 2000 to 2006, when a small number of exports was allowed. Since 2008, temporary visas that allowed the Marwari to travel outside of India have been available in small numbers. Thanks, I was not implying the younger horse was less impressive and the parrot mouth thing appears to be a breed feature in some and makes them look more quizzical, or “cute”. I was very impressed with their hooves and coats that close to winter coats shedding and some of the riders were really impressive. The E-8C’s scheduled deployment date was to be in 1997. The USAF deployed its two developmental E-8Cs for Operation Desert Storm. Every night during Operation Desert Storm a JSTARS would fly a mission that lasted 10-12 hours.ii On the night of January 29, 1991 an Iraqi armored division moved into Saudi Arabia. JSTARS detected over 60 vehicles moving towards Saudi Arabia. The E-8 vectored two A-10s and an AC-130 onto the armored convoy and is staging area. The attack destroyed 71 vehicles. The Iraqis added additional forces to this incursion. US Marines, Saudi National Guardsmen, and Qatari tanks engaged the Iraqi forces around the town of Khafji. The battle lasted two days. The Iraqis who weren’t killed or captured withdrew. Coalition forces destroyed 200 Iraqi vehicles. The action wasn’t all one sided. An Iraqi surface to air missile shot down an AC-130, killing the crew of 14. An A-10 mistakenly struck a Marine light armored vehicle and killed 7 Marines. The Iraqis also captured two U.S. army soldiers. JSTARS were also able to backtrack the paths of Iraqi vehicles. If these paths led to a supply dump or other targets then coalition aircraft would be sortied against these places. When the Coalition ground offensive began the JSTARS detected an Iraqi blocking force forming to confront the 3d Egyptian Mechanized Division. The E-8 directed air strikes that broke up this Iraqi force.iii On the night of February 13 a JSTARS detected an Iraqi division moving south with 224 vehicles. Coalition aircraft smashed the division. When the Iraqi forces attempted to retreat from Kuwait City JSTARS directed Coalition aircraft and turned the road into the Highway of deathâ€. JSTARS also searched for SCUD transport vehicles and passed the information to F-15E Strike Eagles. JSTARS helped find targets for Army artillery. In one case JSTARS helped US VII Corps spot and destroy an Iraqi SA-8 SAM site. When Coalition forces were positioning themselves for the Hail Mary†move JSTARS reported there was no Iraqi response. JSTARS also supported Operation Join Endeavor in December 1995, two years before the E-8C’s initial operating capacity.
